Cashew Milk

Did you know that nut milk from the supermarket only contains around 5% of almonds, cashews, or any other nut they are made of? I was shocked when I realized this and since then I am making my own milk. I explain here how to make my favorite cashew milk:

  1. Soak the cashews in cold water overnight. Alternatively, soak the cashews in hot water for at least 1 hour.

  2. Remove water.

  3. Blend 1 cup of soaked cashews and 3 cups of cold water with a pinch of salt in a mixer for 2 mins.

  4. Filter the milk with the help of a fine strainer, cheesecloth, or nut milk bag

  5. Pour the milk into a glass container and enjoy! Can be kept in the refrigerator for a max of 3 days.

  6. If some sweet flavor is desired honey or dates can be added in the mixing process. Or try out cinnamon, cocoa, vanilla etc. for extra options. The same process can be done with almonds or hazelnuts.
