Almond Flour Buns

Bread is a good staple in my kitchen since I can make a quick breakfast, dinner, or even lunch with it. Despite loving bread I tried to avoid it for its high carbs and gluten content until I started to discover healthier options both in the market and to make at home. This recipe was recommended by a friend that was on a kept diet, I tried it and it turned out to be so easy and good that I have been doing my almond flour buns since then. Low-carb, gluten-free, soft, and delicious:

Ingredients

  • 150 gr. almond flour

  • 40 gr. flaxseed flour – psyllium

  • Sesame seeds

  • 3 egg whites

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 225 ml. hot water

  • 1 teaspoon Salt

  • Apple cider vinegar (optional)

Equipment

Oven

  1. Preheat the oven to 180° C

  2. Mix the almond flour, flaxseed flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl

  3. Add the hot water, a splash of the vinegar, and the egg whites to the mix and beat constantly for 30 seconds

  4. Form the buns (around 6), sprinkle some sesame seeds, and place them in a tray over baking paper

  5. Bake for 50-60 mins and enjoy!
